easter

We put our hopes in things like wishing it wouldn't rain tomorrow, but there is a chance that it would, and we would be disappointed. But the hope we have in Christ is not like that. It's not a wish, because He has already conquered the grave. It's most certain and never-changing. "It's not a secret, it's not a fairytale, it's not made up." Our hope is placed on this anchor, this solid rock, that Christ already bore our sin, our shame, that Christ already suffered in our place so that we need not suffer, that Christ is alive today! Today was a great day. It started out with the whole island lit. It was hazy, but the haze added to the beauty of the sunlight. I could see rays of light escaping through the gaps in the trees and hitting the ground. It was so bright and beautiful. Every day should be like Christmas, every day should be like Easter. But these dates stand out and remind us that it should be like this all the time. To remember that we have a God who loves us, that we have been saved, that we have hope and a future with Christ. It is wonderful to know that our hope is not a guess. That our life in Christ is not one in vain. That Christ's love truly cannot be fully comprehended by people because of its greatness, its purity, its selflessness.
