God is watching, so is the devil.
Usually when "scandalous" issues arise, what we view online is 30% fact reporting, 70% netizens' opinions. The whole CHC incident has revealed many different communities of people with different beliefs. Those who support their leaders and argue their faith, those who question supporters in whom their faith lies (God or their leaders), those who who get extremely angry even though they are the least affected, and of course those who like to make noise and create inappropriate jokes.
Through this incident we watch two groups of Christians argue faith vs. justice.
We can all use the Bible to declare our stand. We use to show how the righteous get persecuted for their faith, how man of God carry out God's will, how we should have faith in the midst of trials. We can also use it to show even the holiest characters fall to sin, how man are greedy, how God's will is just and will not implicate sin.
But when we take the Bible and use it to prove our point, all we are doing is telling everyone that God is on our side therefore we are right. Even the devil knows the Bible, even the devil knows God is real. When Christians use the Bible to argue and go against each other, who is the one laughing?
When matters of the church are brought into the media, are Christians supposed to condemn each other on their leaders or beliefs? There is a much bigger picture to this issue. It's not just about who is wrong and who is right, but not allowing sin or anything else to waver the body of Christ. We are the body of Christ, no matter which church we are from or who our leaders are. We shouldn't be arguing or defending one another, but simply to pray for one another out of love. Remember that we are one in Christ and we fight against a common enemy, not against each other. It is not our job to play judge.
God is watching, He will be the judge, He knows our hearts. The devil is also watching, waiting to see if this will tear us apart.
