Sigur Ros

No, there were no stars. No, there was no moon. But my oh my there was rain, lightning, an amazing show. Still incredibly psyched and pinching myself. Sigur Ros actually came to our tiny little island to play a show. Jonsi actually spoke. "Thank you all for coming tonight." "Ahhhhhh! He spoke!!!" It started to rain really heavily and thank God for Grimlay who came prepared with an umbrella. He also came with a mat so our precious bags and butts were safe from the mud. SAF has trained him well. "Nobody stands at a Sigur Ros concert!" Well, everyone ended up standing throughout. We were so far away and they were so tiny, but their music was so huge. Every note, every whisper, every single detail was so crisp and clear and perfect it was as if the record was playing over the sound system. Jonsi went sharp a little a few times, but his beautiful voice makes up for it all. The visuals were also perfect. Taken right off their official videos. My insides wanted to melt when they showed the video, VarĂșð. My favourite video in the world. You get the chills and all. The morse code in the video is said to be: It doesn’t matter what I say/ The only thing that matters is how you feel/ Understanding that the words are irrelevant is of great importance/ What feelings do you have. Sigur Ros in the rain. What could be more beautiful than that. It was an amazing night and I am so grateful for JemToh and Grimlay who came to watch the gig at the last minute. Thanks for the company and shelter and letting me squeeze your arms when my heart nearly fell out of my mouth. Sigur Ros live in Singapore. Still cannot believe it. Good night.
