Falling out of love

What is the big difference between “loving” someone and “being in love with” someone? Is it that loving requires no reciprocation but being in love with requires an agreement? That being in love “with” calls for a bond, a state where the two are in that love thing together? And how do people fall out of love. It feels as though it tarnishes the perfection that is love and pushes it into a box on the same shelf with “feelings” and “emotions”. But love is so much greater than that, it can’t fit into a box, nor a category, nor a space in your heart or mind. Love consumes entirely. Love is not what you do or say to certain people, but who you are as a being even when nobody is watching. And how one would fall out of it… How do you fall away from something that consumes you, that gives you a reason to live, that keeps you breathing and fighting even when everything is shit? How would one fall out of love?
