And in the midst of this madness that is our youth, we are aimless and lethargic, ambitious but fickle, passionate both in love and anger. We always look forward to the next break, be it a term break or the big break we've been waiting for our whole lives. We dread the weekdays but we also feel miserable during the weekends because Monday awaits. We are grateful for what we have yet we wish work would just do itself. We lose sight of why we are where we are. And in the midst of these frustrations, we meet certain people that completely change the way we look at our lives. We meet people, young like ourselves, who have big dreams and visions and they actually work hard towards these goals. They don't mope about in bed listening to sad British pop music and daydream about their ambitions and whine when they cannot reach it. They act. And they inspire us to chase after what we want, and they remind us how hard we'd have to work for it. But the smile on their tired faces tell us that all is worth it.
And if our hearts are right with God, and we are ever so willing, He will use us in mighty ways. We will never be ready for Him to call us. He will call us when He wants us to take on the challenge. So many times we think we have to prepare and prepare and prepare so that we will be ready when God gives us a task. But we cannot wait until we feel we are ready because so many times, when God presents a task to us, an obstacle or challenge or calling, it is throughout the whole process that he grooms us and prepares us and equips us. If God has something for us right now, just go. If He calls us, He will equip us. And being never quite ready keeps us on our toes to rely on Him entirely.
Yet not my will, but Yours be done.
