By our own effort and strength of course we can't. Of course we're not good enough. Of course we're unworthy. Of course we're inadequate. Take Christ out of our lives and the answer to every self doubt and insecurity is OF COURSE we're not enough. But by God's grace, through the blood of Christ, we are made clean. We will always feel that guilt and shame and unworthiness if we keep looking at ourselves. But remember that God loves us. He loves us not because we did that one good deed, He loves us not because we go to church on Sundays, He loves us not because we serve. He loves us simply because He is love. He doesn't love believers only, because if so, who would ever come to be saved? Salvation is for all. In any form. In any state. As long as we recognise our sins and acknowledge that we need God, He is here to love and to heal and to restore. The weight of sin is death. But Christ bore the weight of our sins so that we might rejoice and be reconciled with God. So don't live your life as if you're still doomed to fail. Rejoice! You should never feel too guilty to come before God. Christ Himself came to save, not condemn. The next time people make you feel like you're nothing remember this: God knows you entirely and still He wants you. He loves you. Don't take other people's word for it, don't repeat other people's stories. Know God for yourself and let Him work in your life. He says: you will seek me and find me if you seek with all your heart. (Jeremiah 29:13)
